Shiseido Company, Limited (“Shiseido”) has received the Best Portfolio Performance Improvement award at the Sustainable Procurement Leadership Awards 2023 held by EcoVadis headquartered in France. The Sustainable Procurement Leadership Awards is a program run by the provider of business sustainability ratings, EcoVadis, to celebrate excellence and recognize the outstanding performance of companies in their sustainable procurement initiatives. Shiseido will continue to actively promote sustainable and responsible procurement together with its suppliers and aim to create a sustainable world where everyone can enjoy a lifetime of happiness through the power of beauty under the corporate mission, “BEAUTY INNOVATIONS FOR A BETTER WORLD.”
In 2022, Shiseido revised its Group Procurement Policy. In the new Group Procurement Policy, the company describes what it expects its suppliers to comply with in terms of environment protection and respect for human rights. It also specifies its initiatives such as the introduction of a rigorous, objective risk identification and remediation process through third-party audits and the evaluation of its suppliers from a sustainability perspective. As one of its evaluation methods, it has introduced the EcoVadis program, and this year, was recognized by EcoVadis for its efforts to improve sustainability standards among its suppliers and given the Best Portfolio Performance Improvement award.
