We strongly condemn the invasion and war in Ukraine, which is causing so much suffering to the Ukrainian people. Our thoughts go out to our 326 Ukrainian employees, their families and the people of Ukraine whose lives have been changed so dramatically in the last eight days. Although some have managed to cross the border, the majority of our employees remain in the country in increasingly harsh circumstances. We are concerned about them and fear for their safety. For our employees who remain in Ukraine we are providing financial assistance and psychological support. Our local teams in neighbouring countries are personally welcoming those employees who have crossed the border, and we are providing them and their families with accommodation, access to private medical care, psychological support, financial assistance and legal advice. Throughout our organisation we have launched an employee volunteer program, which is particularly active in neighbouring countries, where our employees can dedicate part of their time towards humanitarian support for Ukraine. We are deeply moved by the solidarity of our employees and our community towards our Ukrainian colleagues. We are working with local and international NGOs (including HCR, Red Cross and UNICEF) to support the growing number of refugees and people on the ground in Ukraine. We have already made a donation of 1 million euros and have started to deliver hygiene products to NGOs in Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and in Ukraine itself. We will donate 300,000 products over the coming weeks. We fervently hope for a rapid end to this conflict.
