McDonald's McArgentina sandwich the most popular among restaurant chain's special FIFA World Cup team sandwiches in Brazil, says McDonald's franchisee Arcos Dorados; McArgentina made of Angus beef with chimichurri mayo, lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheddar

Just days before soccer matches begin in the 2014 FIFA World CupTM, McDonald’s customers in Brazil have a clear favorite among the seven team sandwiches developed for the FIFA World CupTM, Arcos Dorados, the largest McDonald’s franchisee in the world, announced today. Fans at the more than 800 McDonald’s locations in host country Brazil for a month now have been able to order the special team sandwiches, with each of the seven offered on a specific day of the week.

McArgentina, which is made of Angus beef with chimichurri mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheddar, is the most popular so far among customers in Brazil.

McUSA, also made of Angus beef but with barbecue sauce, crispy onions, pickles, lettuce, bacon and cheddar cheese, holds the runner-up spot.

“Our McDonald’s customers in Brazil know a good sandwich when they taste it. As the official restaurant of the FIFA World Cup 2014™, we wish all the teams good luck in their matches,” said Woods Staton, CEO of Arcos Dorados.

The seven special FIFA World CupTM sandwiches are: McBrazil, McSpain, McGermany, McFrance, McItaly, McArgentina and McUSA.

The sandwiches will be available until June 25th, giving Team USA soccer fans a chance to vote with their tastebuds and make their team the winner.
