Dickey's Barbecue to hold three-day grand opening event in Visalia, California, starting May 8; one guest will win US$500 gift card, three could win free barbecue for entire year

VISALIA, California , May 7, 2014 (press release) – On Thursday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m., the newest Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Visalia will kick off a three-day grand opening celebration. The first 50 guests at the new California location will receive a gift card for up to $50.

Friday, radio station 106.7 KJUG will be onsite from 11:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. and this location will be serving $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches. Also, one lucky winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for an entire year. Saturday, the new Dickey's Barbecue Pit will be offering all day merchandise giveaways.

"I was introduced to Dickey's Barbecue while traveling," said local franchise owner John Peterman, who owns this location along with his wife Christy. "A friend suggested I look into Dickey's Barbecue and I immediately fell in love with the food. My family really enjoys the downtown area so we decided that this was the location we wanted to open our first restaurant."

Peterman spent 35 years in retail management including a 20 year career with Toys R Us and Babies R Us. Peterman's daughters will both also work in the restaurant. 20-years-old Kelsey will be an Assistant Manager and along with 17-year-old high school senior, Kenidy.
