Coal prices in five U.S. coal commodity regions in the week ended Jan. 10 were as follows versus the week ended Jan. 3, according to figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration supplied by SNL Energy and reported Jan. 13.
Average weekly coal commodity spot prices, in dollars per short ton:
Central Appalachia (CAPP) 12,500 Btu, 1.2 SO2: US$64.52, unchanged from week ended Jan. 3
Northern Appalachia (NAPP) 13,000 Btu, <3.0 SO2: US$68.50, unchanged from week ended Jan. 3
Illinois Basin 11,800 Btu, 5.0 SO2: US$46.40, unchanged from week ended Jan. 3
Powder River Basin (PRB) 8,800 Btu 0.8 SO2: US$12.07, unchanged from week ended Jan. 3
Uinta Basin 11,700 SO2: US$36.00, unchanged from week ended Jan. 3
