Wisconsin’s plastics packaging maker TriEnda LLC is planning to expand its operations in Marion, Indiana, by 50% by summer, Inside INdiana Business reported Dec. 28.
Demand for TriEnda’s palette products are high, according to Scott Poenitzsch, the company’s vice president of operations.
TriEnda will add another customized thermoform plastic machine, as well as a grinding operation. Currently, grinding work on the company’s thermoformed plastic palettes is outsourced, but adding a central grinder will allow TriEnda to smooth out the plastic product itself and then ship the scrap to a recycling plant where it can be reused later.
The number of employees, currently at about 75, is also expected to increase. TriEnda will add training facilities, locker rooms and an improved break area.
