The Hispanic population in the U.S. will grow by almost 30% from 2008 to 2018, with much of that growth coming from births rather than from immigration, in contrast to previous years.
This population growth will lead to a significant increase in purchasing power, projected to reach nearly $1.7 trillion by 2017, up from nearly $1.2 trillion in 2012. Organizations can therefore no longer afford to ask themselves “if” they should market to Hispanics but instead “how” to effectively reach this population segment.
