LOS ANGELES, August 22, 2012
– Industry Intelligence Inc., a market intelligence and information management company serving the forest products, packaging, and food and beverage industries, today announced the launch of two stock indices in the foodservice sector. The full service restaurant stock index and the fast food stock index are two of the 11 industry specific stock indices developed and monitored by Industry Intelligence Inc.
The Full Service Restaurant Stock Index tracks 16 public casual dining restaurants and compares the daily indexed results with two popular benchmarks such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 index. The Fast Food Stock Index provides the same comparison view. With the recent acquisition of Peet’s Coffee & Tea by investment group Joh. A. Benckiser, the company was removed from the index, leaving the fast food index with 16 companies. The Industry Intelligence stock indices separate fast food and full service restaurants, thus distinguishing it from the non-segment specific National Restaurant News Stock Index.
At the writing of this release, Industry Intelligence Fast Food Restaurant Stock Index is up 53% from December 2007 when the recession began. The Full Service Restaurant Stock Index is up by only 24% in the same period.
The Industry Intelligence Stock Indices are available to clients of Industry Intelligence’s i2dashboard service.
